Friday A-B-Cs: 🇺🇸 President's Day Weekend Edition 🇺🇸

Easy meal prep idea, memes of the week and cocktail 🍸 suggestions!

Congratulations, tired parents. You made it through another week!

Here’s a few things to get your President’s Day Weekend off to a good start:

A quick and easy dinner idea to keep on reserve

If you’re like me, the next couple of days will fly by, and one evening, your inner voice will yell:

“Oh ****, what am I cooking for dinner tonight?!”

Here’s a super easy, flavorful high protein recipe to keep in your back pocket. These Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas only need about 5 mins of active prep time before marinading + cooking in the oven.

(psst — they’re also great on the griddle if you happen to have one).

Best Memes and Social Posts of the Week

1. WE GOTTA RALLY BRO

All too relatable (minus the 9AM nap…those days are gone 🥲)

2. DIY Bluey Toast

So creative, can’t wait to make this for my son only for him to refuse it because the peanut butter is touching the bread 😂

3. Miles the Music Kid Hears Chingy for the First Time

Super impressive! It’s amazing what kids are capable of when given the right instruction and encouragement.

4. When you forget baby was sleeping with you

😂😂😂 (no babies were harmed in the making of this meme)

5. Forced Daily Cardio

Every. Single. Time.

Cocktail (and Mocktail) Ideas for the Weekend

It’s Friday, and a 3 day President’s Day Weekend lies ahead for most of us.

…I know, I know. That’s probably both relaxing and exhausting to think about, depending on the age of your kid(s).

But for now, Monday is in the far distant future, so treat yourself to a nice cocktail (or mocktail) tonight to enjoy while you fall asleep on the couch to the streaming service of your choice.

(may I suggest Paramount+? more effective sleep aid than melatonin tbh).

Here’s a couple of ideas:

Cocktail: Classic Old Fashioned

Super simple, but oh-so-delicious. A great choice for whiskey/bourbon enjoyers.

Mocktail: Agua Mineral Preparada

Extremely refreshing and can be easily modified to individual tastes. It’s also super easy to make into an alcoholic cocktail by adding about 2.0oz of clear liquor (ex. tequila) to a glass.

One More Thing: Looking for a family friendly activity tonight in Culver City?

CicLAvia is kicking off its event schedule with a debut of their West Coast IPA brewed by LA Ale Works. The party is presented in conjunction with the Night Market at Ivy Station in Culver City, where there will be several food trucks, music, games, local vendors, and kid-friendly activities. This is a free event, no RSVP is required and all ages are welcome.

That’s it for this week’s issue! Thanks for reading.
